About Us
The Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS® (GRAR) is a 3,000+ member organization of professionals engaged in every aspect of the real estate industry. Governed by a Board of Directors, it is one of the largest of its kind in the United States. Members of the Greater Rochester Association are also members of the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).
Licensed real estate agents that affiliate with the Association are known as REALTORS® and REALTOR-ASSOCIATES®. "REALTOR®" is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, and subscribes to a strict Code of Ethics.
The Genesee Region Real Estate Information Service, Inc. (GENRIS) is a subsidiary of the Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS®. It maintains the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), www.Homesteadnet.com, www.GRAR.org, electronic lockbox system, and other information services as determined by its Board of Directors.
The REALTORS® Charitable Foundation (RCF), a 501(c) (3) charitable organization was established in January, 2001. RCF's mission is to make grants which target critical housing needs and improve our neighborhoods. Since its inception, RCF has granted $386,600 to 27 not-for-profit organizations including the the Ronald McDonald "House Within a Hospital" soon to open atop Golisano Children's Hospital, the third such facility in the world.

Alert: If you are interested in becoming a licensed sales agent, please be aware that New York State has passed a law increasing the requirement from a 45 hour course to a 75 hour course effective July 1, 2008.
