Committees & Task Forces

Committees and Task Forces provide feedback and input that enable GRAR to better serve the greater Membership. Your involvement is invaluable to the association and we thank you for your participation.

Please consider volunteering for a Committee or Task Force. Committee sign-ups take place every November/December for the following year.  Please complete the form attached to the email you receive to volunteer.

Advocacy

REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Fundraising Task Force

Chair: Andy Burke
Vice-Chair: TBD
Staff Liaison: Jim Yockel

Plans fundraising events to benefit RPAC (including “RPAC Madness” in March & “Cornhole Madness” in October); Generates support for RPAC and encourages members to contribute via the annual dues billing; Creates materials to educate members on what RPAC does for the industry. (Meets as needed to plan events & activities)

REALTOR® / Bar Committee

Chair: Andrea Noto-Siderakis
Vice-Chair: Rome Celli
Staff Liaison: Jane Sweetland

The Committee includes REALTORS® and attorneys from the Monroe County Bar Association. Reviews relevant industry laws and regulations and keeps GRAR contracts, forms and addenda current; Conducts joint educational programs with members of the GRAR and the Monroe County Bar Association. (Meets monthly for 1.5 hours)

Education

Professional Development Committee

Chair: Deborah Gillen

Staff Liaison: Jen Pierson

Develops ideas for new educational courses, seminars and workshops offered by the GRAR Real Estate School; Ensures that the Association is meeting Members’ educational and developmental needs; Discusses ways to raise awareness of our educational options; Assists in promoting our full range of educational offerings, including ‘in-person’ courses at GRAR, ‘live-streamed’ courses via video conference, and ‘on-demand’ courses via CypherWorx or our online school partners. (Meets monthly for 1.5 hours)

Ethics

Equitable Opportunities in Real Estate Committee

Supports and promotes equitable opportunities in real estate; including fair housing related education and advocacy, the promotion of equitable housing opportunities and development in our community, the support of equitable career and association leadership opportunities for real estate professionals and, the facilitation of the association’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals. (Meets quarterly for approx. 1.5 hours)

Professional Standards Committee

Chair: John Antetomaso
Staff Liaison: Gayle Gallo

Members of this committee are the pool from which hearing panels are constituted for both ethics and arbitration hearings. Committee members are devoted to upholding the Code of Ethics and are required to attend annual NYSAR Professional Standards training. (Time commitment varies depending on the volume of cases. Members may be asked to serve on 3-5 panels per year at 4-7 hours each.)

Technology

Technology Committee

Act as ‘Technology Ambassadors’ to GRAR members by using new technologies, helping to promote adoption of existing products/tools, and helping new members acquire the skills needed to use technology for their business; Tests new features of existing products/tools that the association is making available to members. (Meets monthly for 1‐2 hours)
