Join GRAR Checklist: How to Become a GRAR Member

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS® (GRAR), please follow these steps to guide you through the process.  If you have questions, please contact a GRAR staff member at grarhelpdesk@grar.net or (585) 292-5000 during business hours (Monday-Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm)..

  • You must have a current real estate license (salesperson’s or broker’s) from the NYS Department of State (a drivers license is not the same thing).  If you do not have a real estate license, you must contact the NYS Department of State (DOS) for instructions or join as an Industry or Business member (depending on your employer).

  • Fill out a GRAR Membership Application completely, including your signature.  Send it to GRAR along with a copy of your real estate license and payment for your prorated dues and fees (contact member Services for the correct amount).  Please note that GRAR will NOT process your application without a copy of your current real estate license and payment.  You may also bring your application, license and payment to GRAR at 800 West Metro Park, Rochester, NY 14623.  (See driving directions/map).

  • A Member Services staff person will review the application, and if complete will enter the information into the membership database.

  • Once active in the database, you will receive membership materials consisting of:

    • A User ID and password to access the following:

      • MLXchange, the online Multiple Listing Service (MLS)

      • GRAR’s Member’s only website, www.grar.org

    • Information on obtaining a SUPRA ActiveKey

    • Miscellaneous information regarding your membership

  • Finally, you will be directed to register and attend the three mandatory classes listed below.  They must be completed within ninety (90) days of joining GRAR. The cost for these classes is included in the application fee.  Please register with the GRAR Education Dept via phone, in person or email to GRAREducation@grar.net to avoid the class fees.

    • Introduction to MLXchange®

    • Member Orientation Lecture

    • Code of Ethics
