History of UNYREIS
Member of the Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS®, Inc. (GRAR) can participate in the Upstate New York Real Estate Information Service, Inc. (UNYREIS®).
Through the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), UNYREIS disseminates real estate information to more than 2,850 GRAR members, including residential agents, commercial practitioners, appraisers and property managers. REALTORS® may choose to participate with UNYREIS®, which gives them access to services, including: electronic lock boxes, electronic forms, public records information and most importantly, the property listing data. These services are often critical to the sale of the property, or to finding a new home.
Launched in 1995, www.HomeSteadNet.com, is the UNYREIS public website and was one of the first in the country to provide local listing information to the public. www.HomeSteadNet.com is widely used in the Greater Rochester/Finger Lakes/Southern Tier region and contains the most complete database of local homes for sale.
The Matrix™ MLS system provides an auto-notification service that will send instant email alerts of any new property on the market that matches the user’s criteria. In this way, buyers are made aware of any new listings and sellers are provided immediate exposure for their property. Ask your REALTOR® how to get started with this program.
Reciprocal Listing Program
UNYREIS currently has reciprocal listing agreements with several other MLS’s in New York State. If you are a UNYREIS MLS Participant and wish to gain increased exposure for a listing, you may contact any of these organizations to see how to proceed to get your listing added to its MLS databases.

NYS Alliance of MLS’s Founding Member
The NYSAMLS’s (New York State Alliance of MLS's) is a regional joint venture of the Multiple Listing Services in Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse. The alliance provides a common MLS system and a common set of MLS Rules for all three markets which make it easier to do business across the region without researching business rules prior to accepting a listing.
Because of the size of the alliance, members benefit from negotiated related services such as Instanet Forms. The common MLS provides greater access to your listings and more exposure to your clients’ properties in Western and Central New York.
