It’s an Ethics Year

All Realtors® must complete 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics (COE) training within the two-year cycles, according to NAR policy. The current cycle began 1/1/2017 and ends 12/31/2018.

You can fulfill this requirement through one of the following:

  1. A live class with the GRAR Real Estate School
  2. Online with one of GRAR Partners or another provider
  3. Online with NAR
  4. “Ethics Adventure” mobile game (NYSAR)

1.  GRAR Real Estate School Classes

Code of Ethics & Agency Class

This 4-hour course is being held in 2 locations between now and the end of the year. This course fulfills the COE and the 1-hour Agency requirements. (Note: First-time license renewals require 2 hours of Agency.)

2.  Online Classes with GRAR Partners

Take the course through one of our online partners, either HONDROS of the CE SHOP. Both will report your course completion to GRAR. Both have Continuing Education Credits available. The cost varies by provider and course taken.



3.  NAR Online Classes

There are two online ethics training courses available on NAR.REALTOR. Each course meets the specific criteria and learning objectives required for either new REALTORS® or existing REALTORS®. 4.  “Ethics Adventure” Game (NYSAR)

This mobile game was recently approved and is now available in New York State. Players walk through every article of NAR’s Code of Ethics, figuring out what the best thing to do in many given scenarios might be. Learn more
