Governance Committee Slated Candidates:
Maria Casale
With 21 years of experience as a licensed real estate professional, I have built my career on service, fairness, and a commitment to helping clients and colleagues alike. Over the past two decades, I have served on numerous committees and have dedicated 20 years to volunteering on condominium boards, where I currently serve as president of the board in my own community.
My background in both real estate and management has equipped me with the ability to listen carefully, evaluate situations objectively, and make thoughtful decisions—even when they are difficult. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the importance of collaboration, communication, and integrity in leadership.
I am grateful for the support the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors has provided me throughout my career, and I would be honored to give back by serving on the board. My goal is to contribute my knowledge, experience, and perspective to further strengthen our profession and community.
Shaemar Cherew-Gordon
Shaemar (Shae) Cherew-Gordon is an Associate Real Estate Broker with five years of experience, three of which he has dedicated to serving on GRAR committees, including REALTOR® Bar, Grievance, and the Young Professionals Network. He believes it is important for the board to include the perspective of a young member and is passionate about helping other REALTORS® grow, learn, and elevate their careers while continuing to serve his own clients at the highest level. Shae makes it a priority to connect with fellow agents at REALTOR® events, believing that networking and building relationships strengthen the profession as a whole. His long-term goals include owning multiple investment properties and helping the community build wealth through real estate.
Joel Goldberg
Joel is the current Broker of Realty One Group SPARK. Joel previously served in a management capacity for a local real estate brokerage in the Rochester Region. His career in real estate began in 2015 when he became a licensed Real Estate Salesperson. He continued to progress in the industry by becoming a licensed Associate Broker in 2018, and has taken the next step by becoming The Broker of Record for his own brokerage. Joel has been very involved with the GRAR since becoming licensed. He has served on the Technology Committee as well as the Finance Committee. And is the current chair of the Technology Committee and is a past chair of the Reboot Technology Conference. Joel was also elected as a NYSAR Director representing the Rochester Region for 2023. Joel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from Syracuse University.
